The problem with the Flexitys was trucking to Hillcrest was very problematic as they are longer than subway cars and had to go through downtown. A streetcar on a truck don't fit underneath streetcar overheads.

The Flexitys were all brought in by rail. The TTC has a small spur track that goes up a ramp into a spur off the CPKC mainline. There is also a spur at the Mount Denis yard as well for the crosstown trains. Finch West has no rail connection for deliveries.

Delays currently between Finch and Lawrence. Only one track operation for a section.

I wonder if the TR's would get a re-paint in this livery when the go for their mid-life rebuilds in the 2030's.

I believe you are thinking of Baltimore's new trains. I believe they just purchased the same model that LA, and Miami did. Philly hasn't received their new ones yet and they have a modern-ish design although Atlanta's new trains are the nicest as far as new rolling stock in the US is concerned.

I strongly disagree. I like the original proposed design way more, and hope they stick to it. This newest 3rd render isn't bad (better than the 2nd one), but I still prefer the 1st. The good news is that they're expected to be here "later this decade" (so before 2030).

Actually, the new Piccadilly Line trains are very robust and modern.

Knock TFL all you want but their system is far better than ours on any given day.

Piccadilly has new trains? I was there a few weeks ago and they looked as beaten up as ever. The Elizabeth Line trains and stations looked nice, but I suspect given the extreme passenger volumes, will look shabby in a few years like the rest of their system.
