How does it look anything like either? Warden will have an island terminal of buses, with an overhead bridge.
Don Mills has an underground terminal. Leslie has a (quite small) loop around 3 sides of a secondary exit. Those two aren't even similar to each other.

Greenwood is the heavy maintenance facility for the system. Unless Wilson has been upgraded to do such things, it was probably there for some heavier work.
Recall that the H5s underwent rebuilding there in 1997-2000, long after they had all been banished from the BD line.

I would assume Wilson is equally capable of heavy maintenance if not more so, however. I didn't think GW would be the main (let alone only) such facility for the entire network.
Besides, GW is incapable of maintaining sets of more than 2 cars, as we're seeing now with the upcoming order, so doing heavy maintenance on the TRs there seems less than ideal.

Also recall that Greenwood did major work on the ICTS cars, despite the LIM propulsion package.
Greenwood is more than capable of maintaining sets of more than 2 cars. What Greenwood lacks is space to store 6 car semi-permanently coupled sets, due to the varying lengths of the storage tracks with no room to expand.

Yes, but that's because McCowan couldn't do the heavy maintenance, and GW was the closest otherwise.
iirc it's the turntables that are limited to 2 cars. Besides, if storing longer sets is a problem, then presumably maintenance would be as well. iirc the TRs have occasionally been stored outdoors at GW

Big different between the 2 stations.
VP is a side platform where buses enter from the street to the south and exit onto VP at the station. The current parking and Kiss and Ride area off VP is to see 2 towers that been on the books over a decade.
I stand to be corrected, but the new Warden terminal will be an island enclosed platform with a walkway bridge to the station with towers replacing the existing land south of it Cars can pickup and drop off riders with no Kiss and Ride area between the island and the station,

At the time, Greenwood was the only heavy maintenance shop in the subway system.
Wilson has been upgraded in order to perform most of the heavy maintenance tasks for the TRs, but Greenwood is still a more capable shop. For instance, it's the only subway shop with a paint booth.
Not turntables, transfer tables. And they are all 1 car long.

We had a discussion awhile back about the TTC plowing tracks, if required, in reference to the subway. Though the streetcar could be discussed too.

What does the TTC use to plow the tracks? In Ottawa they just use basically a tractor on train wheels. Generally it's the trains themselves of course, but sometimes the plow is needed.

Can't speak for the track but clearance around the 3rd rail is hand shovelled.
Plowing is probably pretty difficult with 3rd rail on one side and signal wires on the other. They would need to be careful about where and how much force is used to plow the snow.

Conveniently, there's a website for that.
Historically, the TTC also cleared the tracks on any of its own routes, even when the tracks were located in a street - and so they had a decent sized fleet of plows and brush-equipped sweepers. This ended around 1973 or so.
It's not usually. The snowblowers listed on the above page are equipped with rotating brushes that are designed to clean off the third rail.
That said, the area around switches is usually hand-cleared as it's difficult to make equipment that can get into all of the nooks and crannies.

So each T1 pair would also be separated to use the transfer tables? What about the TRs? In that case, what limits line 2 cars (both current and upcoming) to having to be 2-car sets specifically?

Question of Dan: Are these adequate to purpose? That is to say, if a major snow even began late on Sunday, is this equipment sufficient to ensure Rush Hour service on Monday morning rolls out on schedule?
Further question, should Dan humour me...........
Would there be any benefit to the TTC in having it resume this function? Could it do so any better/faster than City / contract crews?
