I suspect there needs to be some gallows humour to deal with stuff like that.

My wife was on that train today - eastbound at Greenwood. The train stopped partially in the station, after a few minutes they evacuated everyone through the train, and out into the station from one of the front cars.

Around a decade ago, I watched a middle aged woman end her life at Warden Station.

I was heading downtown to work and while I was watching the train pull in, she jumped.

After she impacted the front of the train she wound up at track level deep under it.

My understanding is that they had to amputate one of her limbs to extricate her but her injuries were quite severe.

She was alive but barely.

Not sure if she survived in the end but that's not something you forget.
 
Line 2 cocked up again this morning with no service Woodbine to Broadview, again. I arrived at Coxwell to see a train stopped mostly in the tunnel... It happens but is very annoying.

I was forced to offload at Woodbine where it was sheer chaos.

Only 2 westbound shuttles came within around 30 minutes while the crowds piled up onto the road. TPS should have been assisting with traffic management or crowd control but instead sat in their cruiser doing diddly all.

The irony is that the TTC Supervisor on site wanted people to move off the road and back onto the sidewalk so that shuttles could service the station. There were so many people waiting for shuttles that there was no room left on the sidewalk. Someone correctly pointed out that if shuttles actually came then there would not have been an issue with crowd management.

When I eventually got to Broadview I found out that the 504 was stuck at King and River due to a track issue. I had to walk from Broadview and Dundas to work but while doing so found 13 Streetcars stuck in between Distillery Loop and Broadview Avenue.

Today has been a s******w to say the least.

I can appreciate dark, gallows humour, but then again I'm a quirky dude.
 
Amazingly, after all the work, the switch eastbound on Adelaide at Church is now inoperable automatically and the driver has to get out and move it with the stick.

What's the over under in months on this being fixed before Queen reopens in six years.

Possibly jammed with snow/ice. That is quite common and not much one can do about it - apart from heating but ......

Maybe, though the streetcar in front of this one made a right turn south on Church, so I assume this switch is expected to simply be always set to turns to the north, and a rare turn to the south requires a manual change, which is silly given the new volume of turns here.

It would be silly if it was not fully automated but there are quite often southbound turns and I am in the vicinity often and have not seen anyone moving the switches manually so suspect it was jammed - probably ice.
 
Without fail, every one of my TTC journeys involve someone deciding they want to play TikTok or in this case a music video off YouTube with no headphones and FULL volume. Posted a video since apparently that is hard to belive!

I know the TTC can’t do much about this but it’s really frustrating when you’d like to rest or even study
