TTC: New Fare Gate Installation

I think it was mentioned that the TTC is ~15% Presto. I could be wrong though.
If you read the latest )April) CEO Report )page 22) you would see:

Ridership using the PRESTO Farecard (e-purse; period pass) in February was 9.5M, which was 1.3M (16%) above the budget of 8.2M. In terms of year-over year growth, February’s PRESTO ridership of 9.5M was 4.8M (102%) above the ridership of 4.7M for the comparable period in 2017.
Year-to-date to the end of February 2018, ridership was 2.5M (14%) above budget and 11.4M (129%) above the comparable period in 2017.
Analysis The PRESTO component of total TTC ridership continues to grow rapidly. The PRESTO adoption rate increased from 22.4% to 23.2% in February 2018.

The PRESTO adoption rate is expected to accelerate throughout 2018 in conjunction with the phasing-out of legacy fare media and the commensurate uptake of PRESTO-based fare media.

It would be interesting to see the TTC Presto adoption percentage data graphed with expected adoption projected.

Look at page 22 of the last CEO Report, there is a graph there.
Thanks! :D

Not sure what is difference between Phase 1 and Phase 2. They've already done 2 of the 3 entrances, and only the west exit to St George Street itself is left. Which I'd have called at least Phase 3.

I'm guessing that Phase 1 is the side of the entrance that's north of the newsstand. It's currently boarded up. Phase 2 is likely the side that's currently opened up.

Are the gates on the wood just placed there for installation at the other entrance?

From here
The [King Station] commerce court entrance will be done with our easier access construction project. The fare gates won't be available there until sometime next year. I believe this entrance is being staffed open to close so customers can access the temporary PRESTO card readers

Makes sense.

We're lucky Toronto plans to complete Easier Access by mid-2020s -- more than a decade sooner than Montreal who has their equivalent elevator projects complete by year 2039.

Inevitably, the decade-ongoing elevator installations at TTC stations creates a construction schedule conflict with faregate installs at a few stations. So it appears that this is one of the "phasing adjustment" casualities of faregate installs. Thankfully, manning + temporary Presto reader comes to the rescue here.

At least all the important stations (including Union) will be fully nicely faregated with lots of redundant Presto Add-Value vending machines by then. With majority of glitches removed by then, mandatorily.

And Presto adoption should still hit within a stone's throw of 90% before the non-Presto Metropasses go poof.

Which stations currently have old turnstiles still in? I know Wilson still has some high gate exits and Yorkdale has the old turnstiles, but are there any more?
