I think the aim for electric should be to put additional garages in the city where sustained outdoor noise and/or requirement for large fuel storage is the principal blocker, rather than retrofitting diesel yards - or at least doing so before other heavy work is required anyway.

Will there be space provided for electric charging systems to be installed at some close future date?
Since the TTC doesn't yet know what the requirements are for the electric buses is yet they aren't committing to putting in infrastructure for them. Plus the current pan id that they will use the test fleet out of all garages before they commit to one manufacturer. It's like the whole problem with electric cars right now the only company that is thinking about how to charge them is Tesla by building the supercharger network, all other manufacturers are just building electric cars and saying will let someone else figure out how to charge it just like they did with gas stations.

Had my first look at the area and more photos up on site that I just place there an hour ago

These are the folks that opposed this garage and have no rights where they where they are since it was to be employment and industrial land in the first place.

Steel work going up for the north end that will house the service bays. Foundation taking place for the exterior wall and footings for the bus bay. Hard to get real good shots with the high chain fence.

Saw the site today and most of the foundation walls and footing for the steel columns are in place.

They are near the 50% mark of having the steel up. What is odd that I saw that a bay or 2 on the east side has been galvanize for some reason in the bus storage area.

TTC is going to add fund request to its 2019 budget to buy 35 acres of land and built another garage to house 350 buses by 2025 or sooner.

What is so interesting about this need for new garages is the fact that the Eglinton and Finch LRTs will significantly reduce the TTC's need for buses - they will eliminate some of the TTC's busiest bus routes. The fact that they still need new storage is a sign of the strong demand for bus service in the city.
