TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Car 4660 was unloaded at Hillcrest today with 3 more cars to come to complete the ordwe,.

Nothing has enter service sine the last car with the mid 30/s days beconing the norm for entering service after being off loded.

Some time this coming week, TTC 4658 and 4659 will enter service for the first time.

4661 was off loaded today with front door open.

4662 and 4663 should arrive in October to close the book on the 60 cars that were added to the existing fleet and they may see service before December depending when they arrive using the current 35 days from arrival to service.

A number of existing cars are going through the 8 year rebuilt cycle and a fair number are in the 4500's series of all things.
 
This may have been reported before but today I saw my first streetcar with no pole. It still has the hook (which is probably not worth removing.)

4662 is sitting in Lambton yard waiting to be delivery to Hillcrest.

This leaves 4663 the last of the 60 cars on order to be delivery in the next 2 weeks or so. This will close the book for deliveries.

Depending on when 4663 arrives and TTC maintaing the 35-48 day to in servce these days, we could see 4663 in service between the end of 2025 to the seond week of 2026.

It will close the book for the extra 60 cars until about 2044 when the replacement for the current fleet may start to arrive.

Based on current ridership projected of 53,000 daily rider for 519/QQE as well other routes increase of ridership, TTC may have to order more cars before 2040.

4478 has been place in storage at Russell.

With cars being rebuilt after 8 years, most or all 4400's are done except 4471 and 4478 that were only a few month old before being removed from service. Work underway on the 4500's and the poles should be remove from them since poles are history.

4660 has been moved to Roncesvalles yard from Russell and most likely it will enter service on Monday on 512
 
4662 was off loaded on Thursday leaving 4663 the last car still to come.

4660 enter service on October 29

4661 has enter service on November 01 leaving 4662 and 4663 the last two cars to enter service to close the book on the additional 60 car order. One or both cars could be in service before the end of the year.
