TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Based on March report, one can say BBD will be suppling 10 extra cars to cover TTC back charge, but still short to cover TTC full cost on the cars being soooooo late in delivery. The question is, what is Metrolinx supposed to takeover as noted in the report, TTC??
I have had a look at the CEO report - page 93 - and I think you are misreading a reference to Presto machines on the streetcars (Management Action Plan #5) rather than 10 extra streetcars. If that was agreed, the extra 10 would also show up on the Schedule Status chart on the same page (presumably as a 2020 item)

4473 is in service on 514 after arriving 21 days ago.

Indeed - I read that as the SVRMs for 10 streetcars. i.e. 20 SVRMs

So have we reached a point where we don't have to celebrate each arrival of a new flexity? What is the current delivery rate?
The schedule called for 11 in Q1 and 16 in Q2, if memory serves. If 4475 is delivered by tomorrow, that would put them more or less on target, with 5 in April.

Though I am certainly not volunteering to do this! (!!) it strikes me that someone ought to create a chart that would be "sticky' at the top of this thread with a list of all 204 new streetcars and their actual arrival dates plus a chart showing the latest delivery schedule. There is a list on Wiki ( see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flexity_Outlook_(Toronto_streetcar)) but this gives only year of receipt and UTers expect the day, if not the hour. One of our more obsessive UTers may want to take on the challenge?

With 4460 being the first car off loaded in 2018 and 4475 to be off loaded tomorrow, thats makes 15 cars so far. Doesn't include 4466 that was sent back for repairs, otherwise it would be 16 cars. This leaves BBD to have 12 cars to delivery to Hillcrest by the end of June.

This means TTC should be receiving a car every 5 days, with most likely 2 cars on the same day starting May 1.

4487 should enter service around July 20 if TTC maintain the current time frame for getting cars into service once it arrives.

Once 4466 returns, it should only spend a short time for testing and going into service, since it did most of it before being return.

^I am reluctant to do that listing, because at some point I am sure that there will be an ‘official’ listing from TTC sources or compiled by one of the respected TTC equipment enthusiasts, and an ‘unofficial’ list just creates potential for confusion and needless debate. Also, TTC and Bombardier may base their tally on "shipped" or "accepted for revenue service after burnin" whereas we may care more about "arrived" or even "unloaded".

However - to give a quick overview - here's a quick recount from this thread

Q3 2017 - last car placed at Hillcrest for unloading - 4446 - Message # 10984
Q4 2017 - first car - 4447 - Message # 11001
Q4 2017 - last car - 4459 - Message #11483
Q1 2018 - first car - 4460 - Message # 11615
Q1 2018 - last car - 4472 - Messages 12068, 12074
Q2 2018 - first car - 4473 - Message 12074

That gives an unofficial count of
Q4 2017 - 13 cars
Q1 2018 - 13 cars - 1 returned to manufacturer
Q2 2018 - 3 cars so far

This means TTC should be receiving a car every 4.6 days, with most likely 2 cars on the same day starting May 1.

I neglected to think about 4466. That being said, if 4475 is delivered tomorrow, its still 15, not 14.

I have a full list, but too long to post based on UT site info.

I don't care when cars are ship, but do on date of off loading since thats part of the contract and date enter service. Date in service is when TTC has sign off for the car as well how long it took due to issues with it. TTC was doing a car about 8-10 days until this year and now around the 15-21 day range.

TTC maintain an official list when cars were off loaded and accepted by them. Not sure if it includes the time thing has happen.

BBD maintains a list when cars are ship, but has no control over when they are off loaded at Hillcrest since CP controls the time frame between both points.

Fix my post since I miss count and its is 15 cars so far, with 12 still to be ship for Q2.
