TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Then there will be the "Broadview" streetcar that would continue south past Queen Street East into the Port Lands. May have some sort of connection with the SmartTrack & Relief Line stations near Eastern Avenue.

Why does 504 King have flexity streetcars when the TTC is saying they wont appear till 2018?
Because they said they will put any 'extra" ones onto 504 ASAP to alleviate the over-crowding and they are getting more of them so ..... (also 2018 is actually only 3 weeks away!)

4455 is now tracking.

4454 has had GPS problems the last day or so to the point it finally show up at the Barns, not Russell or what every. It is currently southbound on Bathurst from St Clair.

Based on the load factor for King and being a pilot project, TTC decided that the remaining cars for 512 for the rest of the year delivery would be assign to 504 ahead of schedule. The ward councilor tweeted a few months ago that more cars were coming to 512 and has accept the fact they were going to 504 instead, considering he is the main reason we have new cars now.

If one checks the roll out schedule, its not the same as first plan and has change a number of time since then.

Has anyone heard what Andy had to say yesterday on the update of this year delivery since I haven't seem or heard what was said???

Other than 4456 due this week and may see 4457 next week, so much for having 65 cars here come Dec 29, based on the revise schedule down from 70 that was plan a year ago.

Looks like either 2021 or 2022 will be the years we see that last car out of 204 show up. Then, what the plan for 4401, other than held for legal reasons??

The question that still needs to be answer, what will TTC do when 4460 shows up and the failure rate is still well below the level they are supposed to be at in the first place?? Teething time is over.

Had a look at the platforms on Roncy and the edge guard height is all over the place as well being in bad shape in a few areas. The platform itself is asphalt, but not sure what is under the guard. At the same time, is the concrete platform edge at the correct height and if not, it can be saw cut easy to raise or lower it as well the guards themselves. It would mean blocking traffic to do the work. Then can be jackhammer out 100%.

He said Bombardier might be off by 1 car, 64 instead of their claim of 65 cars.

So they just need to send a car every other day from now on till the end of the year (9 in 18 days) to get to 65. :(

That might come close to happening. They will want to empty the plant as much as possible for Christmas break (facility repairs, cleaning, etc.)

Of course, 4 will be largely unfinished and Bombardier staff in the TTC garage (doing local repairs/adjustments) will fix them up by the end of January.

It wasn't really even that issue last year, CP is harder to schedule deliveries with around the Christmas time as many CP staff, conductors and engineers arrange for time off for Christmas so CP doesn't have the same level of available service.

The numbers of days remaining for this year, the numbers say TTC will not have 64/65 on their property come Dec 31. They may have 57-60.

Unless BBD has 8/9 cars ready for shipping come Dec 15 with TTC and CP agreeing to off load 2-4 cars per day at Hillcrest starting Dec 27, you may see 3 cars after 4456 get here tomorrow or Friday come year end. Even then, that maybe pushing it. Since TTC and CP currently only do one car per weekday being off loaded, that 8/9 days of off loading with only 3 day remaining this year, depending on how CP ships the cars from Thunder Bay.

Another schedule down the drain with more to go the same way. Best to say, TTC will have X cars being shipped by the end of Nov and this allows for cars to be off loaded in Dec by year end.
