Absolutely correct. Apart from enjoying our own factchecking of whatever PR Bombardier and TTC come out, all this obsessive tracking is just its own spectator sport. You can read the score in the paper the next day, but it's fun to listen for the 'clunk' when the puck bounces off the goalpost and misses the net by a hair.

Think we could see Flexities on 501 tomorrow, as it will obviously be Christmas Day, and TTC will be running on Sunday schedule.

On this Tuesday Christmas morning, Flexities 4477, 4490, 4456, 4480, 4502, 4438, 4431, 4454 and 4466 are on 501A as holiday spares.

I think the real burden is replacing the carbon shoes in them. When they stop using the poles, they would stop ordering the shoes rendering them pretty useless.

Replacing inserts in the shoes is no burden - it takes quite literally 5 minutes.

Even replacing the carbons on a pantograph doesn't take that long. But unlike the inserts, you need guys on the roof of the car.

On Boxing Day Wednesday, Flexities 4450, 4433, 4443, 4430, 4466, 4468, 4495, 4410 and 4421 are on 501A today, holiday extras.

4518 has been unloaded at Hillcrest, 4519 awaiting delivery to the TTC. 4520 and 4521 are now moving in Northern Ontario.

Well, it IS UT and some of us are renowned for obsessive attention to details! I actually fully expect that some of us will soon enough start tracking the remaining ALRVs and CLRVs - they are now rarer than Flexities!

I am just thankful the tracking starts when the things are ready for shipping.....could not tolerate “4th rivet on right side of 4523 just put in place by Bob on the afternoon shift”
