If a tourist rides buses or trams in Europe, would they carry a USB-A or USB-C cord to recharge their smartphone while on them? Most tour buses now have USB-A plugs on them.
Like I said on a long distance it might make sense but on the average bus ride how much sense does it make to pull out a cable from your bag or purse and plug into a bus?Whenever I take the Niagara excursion train I make very good use of them.
That's the $100,000 question, I think that the majority of tourists who looking to change a phone or tablet somewhere already have a charger with them these days.If a tourist rides buses or trams in Europe, would they carry a USB-A or USB-C cord to recharge their smartphone while on them? The buses usually have a life span of less than 15 years for the TTC, streetcars are double that or more. So a USB-C for the new streetcars would be better than going with USB-A for the streetcars. Replacing the plugs would be cheap for whatever comes along could be done at rebuild time. How often do the interiors get refurbished? Every 10 to 15 years?
If installing a new plug today which is expected to still be still be useful in 10 years, I'd go with mostly USB-C (perhaps 1 in 4 would be USB-A).

The last four TTC cars to leave for Quebec were sent off on the following transporters:
4402 - TTTX 965335
4420 - XTTX 137329
4422 - JTTX 966016
4423 - XTTX 142489
Car numbers came from TTC. Most likely 4402 and 4420 since CP had issues getting 4422 out to place 4421. 4422 & 4423 should be on their way nowTwo went out together, and have already been sighted in Montreal. The other two are following.
