Oh don't mind me, I'm just posting some QUINTUPLE CRANE ACTION!!!!

Never before has it been possible to shoot crane porn in Thornhill!

It's actually quite dizzying looking at it when all 5 cranes are moving.

It's not rising that quickly, but they're building at a fair pace given how immense this project is. Every time I see it, it's covered in workers trucks and cranes.

A few more images of the construction progress. The 5 cranes are an unusual site.

It looks like Crane Twister.

There are now seven cranes on this site. Coordinating them so they don't get in each other's way must be quite a task...

In other news, the World on Yonge sales office has been moved to 1 Steelcase Road West. I would imagine the former Wendy's restaurant they've been using up until now won't be around for much longer, as that is where the hotel/office tower is supposed to go.

I go by this site every day too; I had not noticed that there were 7 cranes, but you cannot miss them.

It appears from Jaycola's second last picture that it will still be some time before the buildings will be visible on Yonge from behind the hoarding unless you walk around the site for a better view.

Maybe a view from a distance would capture it all? Is there enough of a hill here to see over the fence from a little bit back?

Anyway, new dataBase page for this project here.

I was wondering why the 5 cranes were labeled A,B,C,F,G. I should have realized there would be more, but 5 cranes is already incredible for Thornhill. 7 cranes is just insane.

The neighbourhood west of Bayview, between Green Lane and Highway 7 offers some great views of this project, and in fact North York in general. Here are some photos from 10 years ago looking toward the city from this vantage point. Fortunately, camera technology has improved greatly since then!

Zoomed out. Note the absence of Minto Yonge and Eglinton:

The downtown skyline, from 2002, was also clearly visible:

And finally, Thornhill crane porn circa 2002, at Highway 7 and Valleymede:

Update from today. I counted 7 cranes on this site - pretty massive footprint.
