And these are of the public square which is currently being built between Waterscapes and older Monarch buildings here, 'Voyageur' IIRC:

Why did they need to put that suburban patch of grass in the front of this building? I would have much preferred a bigger sidewalk. I don't know why but I hate when there is a patch of grass between the sidewalk and the street. I guess it just reminds me of the suburban areas I grew up in (North York) which I found so ugly and such a waste of space. We waste so much valuable land in the suburbs, when it could be put to so much good use.

With the buildings looking urban, the streets should also reflect an urban design aesthetic. With greater density should come a more urban character. With all the new residents in this district, I hope it develops a lively street vibe with a good restaurant/retail scene.

A new Firkin Pub opening soon-ish called "Firkin on the Bay". Always find their food reliable. It's going next to the public square opposite Eden so should have a good patio.

My guess is dog owners will love it! I kinda like the grass. If that was all concrete, it would look really cold.

Anyone know what other retail is going here? The Firkin is set to open mid July (i'm guessing they will make a mint here), but it looks like the other units facing the public square have also been leased/sold.

From the early evening of the 12th; the square between Waterscapes and Voyageur has been landscaped (although lighting and public art has yet to go in), and stores and restos are now going into the base of the building (and if you're in the area, check out Lola's Gelato in the base of Nautilus, just to the north).
