The construction hoarding on ground level started to come down yesterday and is continuing today. This should give some life to the street again.

Now for some proper lighting on the north side of the sidewalk... super dark streetscape.

Bit of a lipstick on a pig situation but the elevator "lantern" with the offset addition certainly will make it standout.

This hotel seems doomed to failure with the upcoming destruction of the attached HBC Centre and the Bloor Station expansion. Many years of very loud construction are ahead. Maybe we will get a nicer W hotel once this bites the dust?

The hotel is actually in a separate building at the back facing a street parallel to Bloor (I believe it’s Asquith), so any noise from the Yonge/ Bloor station expansion and HBC redevelopment will be somewhat mitigated.

Most of the construction noise—jackhammering, grinding—would be the same as what's coming through the wall from the next room anyways.

Today. The W sign is now installed on the Bloor side of the tower that doesn't actually house the hotel. I'm sure that's not the final look (not clear enough).
