Yeah, good riddance to the local supermarket with fresh produce and the local pharmacy, etc. Let's hop in our car so we can drive to do our shopping.
Sorry, but ugly suburban strip malls are not good land use nowadays, nor are they pedestrian friendly. However you might want to read the first post:
The proposed development consists of a 9-storey (28.45 metres plus a mechanical penthouse) mixed-use building with approximately 1,400 square metres of at-grade commercial floor area, which is intended to be used for a grocery store and other commercial uses.
If anything, the added density here will ensure that more people will not have to drive for their shopping.
