Thanks LI Mike!
The route was actually more complex. We cut out a lot of the beginning and end of the video because my neighbourhood is a bore. It was actually 2 clips because there was a quick stop for some obligatory photography. DVP to Gardiner, exit onto Spadina, East on Bremner to York, north to King then east to Yonge (this is where the second video fades in going north on Yonge)
We actually continued east to Church, parked at the site of the future 60 Colborne and took some photos by the flatiron building, then resumed recording and headed back north on Yonge
Does anyone know where I can find the following footage? I came across this while watching Rush on The Hour. The funny thing is, this footage 28-:34) is supposed to represent Willowdale, but it is actually Cassandra Blvd, in Parkwoods/Donalda. Check out this Toronto centric web series, that has some great shots of Toronto. It features Toronto, somewhat the way Sex And The City featured New York, except this is really tacky, with terrible acting. It stars the pretentious Youtube celebrity Gregory Gorgeous, who was raised (and still lives) in a "suburb just outside of Toronto". (his parent's house in Rosedale lol) It's good for a laugh but the cinematography is actually pretty good. (love those skyline shots) It's on its second season on Youtube.
I don't know if anyone's posted this yet but there's a terrific video from the NFB up on YouTube, called Christoper's Movie Matinee. It's a bunch of college-aged young people in the summer of 1967 wandering around Toronto and just filming stuff, going to City Hall, talking to people on the TTC, things like that. There's an astonishing scene shot at the Bayview Ghost that I just couldn't get over. Lots of views of town from the Summer of Love.
Here's a rant video of downtown Toronto and one of the reasons why there is always so much traffic. It's also a dig at luxury condos. Enjoy!
Another special effects showcase by FreddieW on Youtube, except this one uses a composite Toronto skyline at the end with an interesting modified FCP and other downtown buildings: Skip to the 3 minute mark if you are impatient
Last weekend Buffer Festival was held in Toronto, which is a gathering/showcase for Youtube vloggers and personalities. Philly-based daily vloggers Jesse and Jeana (from the channels BFvsGF and PrankvsPrank) spent a few days in town and posted some videos of them at various Toronto locales / attractions.
Here's one with them doing the EdgeWalk on CN Tower and having poutine at Smoke's:

Their videos have an average daily viewership of several hundred thousands, and there were dozens of other Youtube content producers in town who must have filmed stuff around Toronto and posted them, so it's a bit of free, good publicity for the city (especially at times like this).
