The design seems atrocious, too many things going on.
Looking like an 80's hotel from the top view.
I agree, it also doesn't fit in with its surroundings and demolishes an old building that could've been adapted to new uses. The design seems atrocious, too many things going on.

Hmm? ..You seem to be a design specialist
Without wanting to open up a can of worms, that's actually not the case and it's a common misconception. Architecture is both an art and a science. It's not *all* subjective. There is right and wrong in design, and in art too. It does take a certain amount of education to see it and lots of training to practice it.Huh? So people can't share their opinion? Architecture is like art - it's all subjective. There is no right or wrong and you don't have to be a design specialist to have an OPINION so please stop.

Yes, there's a degree of subjectivity but, as I said, it's not *all* subjective. And there are different taste levels, with a relatively small, educated and talented class of design leaders at the top and a large class of laypeople, ie, the rest of us, at various points below that. Everyone's entitled to an opinion--it's a free country--but not all opinions are equally valid.
This scene from The Devil Wears Prada kind of illustrates my point.
Urban Toronto is an amazing resource and by following this site, we can all develop a sharp eye for good design and gain the language to back up our opinions.
