Other notes: The construction material staging area by the car loop area is finally gone - the area is all cleaned up and completely open.

View from Draper Street - the east/west walkway is open, with some final clean up activities on the sides.

Not familiar with the detailed plans for The Well, but this looks like it might be a day care area in final stages of preparation:

I believe that The National is actually on the lower level. We’ll find out tomorrow!
Its both, alongside the national there might be upwards of 10 more stalls opening up on the other side of sweetie pie.
That area has yet to open.
The retail brochure hasnt been updated in a year but heres some screenshots of what to expect:

It would be an absolute GODSEND if a second holiday market began at the Well, to alleviate pressure on the Distillery Winter Village. For a city of 3MM people plus the additional 2MM+ in the GTA, having one central holiday market is an absolute failing of meeting our needs.

The fact that there's ticketed entry and you're still pushing through crowd crush throngs of people in the distillery just to pay $10 for a hot chocolate should be a sign that the city can sustain a second formal market.

Cities smaller than Toronto have more holiday markets - Cologne in Germany has seven, all with different themes. The DWV has sat on its laurels for too long and become completely uncompetitive - I sincerely hope this micro market at the Well is a massive success and grows into something to rival the DWV and force its organizers to do better.

Excellent point of view and analysis.
I generally avoid the Distillery Xmas market because of capacity and parking issues.

It's so insanely crowded that it's become uncompetitive is quite the take! But I agree that there's plenty of room for a competitor so that it's not quite as crowded.

There's a Christmas market at Stackt which is very close to the Well.
