Aren't the subtle pieces of flare on street signs enough? You don't want to exploit a neighbourhood's heritage to the point where it ends up becoming a ghetto.

That's why I said monuments of local and national significance as well. The multicultural ones could be designed in reference to Canadian values and culture as well. I think that's why the Roncesvalles case is successful. The Katyn memorial reminds freedom loving Canadians the dangers of totalitarianism and the crucifix and papal statue are a reminder of shared Christian heritage.

Chinatown East already has a cool arch. All Chinatowns need some more statues, dragons, lanterns and so on.

We've already got Chinatowns that have them. One's called Pacific Mall, another is called Splendid China Tower, and another called Mississauga Chinese Centre.
