Cheery thought for the season, wot?
Off-topic: I read as article in Scientific American some eons ago where is suggested skyscrapers would fall in ruin first if all humanity suddenly removed itself from the gene pool Stephen King's The Stand style. They're not really designed for the weathering unaided by human caretakers...A thousand years from now, with humans long extinct, insects, the only survivors of The Great Dying Part 2, will be crawling all over what's left of that rusty rebar.
And I'm certain that invading aliens would upgrade any aging, failing cladding, so all would be fine. I mean, what Alpha Centaurian wouldn't want an 85th floor penthouse here? If you're going to warp that much space to get here, you're not moving into Strada.Nothing human-made is designed to completely deny the march of time. Just sayin'. Even the Great Pyramids are doomed to crumble. It's just gonna take some time.
Even so, at least in a geologically stable area, most modern towers would take decades, even centuries, before they would come down.
So let's keep our chins up, shall we?
I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords.Oh, so true. I await the aliens with infinite patience, for the sake of this special holiday season.
I have a question for you @drum118
Every post you make that has photos of a project starts with "more up on site" or in this case "a lot more up on site"
It's gotten to the point where I often read that in my own head even before looking at any photos and I'm not even sure why lol.
But my question is, do you just mean that literally, as in the building is taller, they've buit/made progress on the site, or does it mean something else that I'm missing.
Just genuinely curious.
Thanks in advance.
