The corner I think is the most shameful and in need of destruction is the north east corner of Davenport and Mcalpine. The opportunity there for a grand terminus for the bay street view is incredible. I'm just waiting for that dinky little clock tower to disappear.

Something has started.

The Jesuit building is coming down now.

Not sure if urbantoronto has a thread on this one.

Not a reno but a demo. The Jesuit building is gone . We now have a new space on Bay St.

It actually looks more 1970s than 1960s with all that (precast) brick, in particular the rejection of continuous curtainwall in favour of brick walls framing the windows, which is interesting considering how focused condo architecture has been on the International Style in the 2000s. I wouldn't want to see a progressive revival of late 20th century decades of architecture, though.

We have added a dataBase entry for this building, and put up a front page story. You can access both through here.

In the meantime, we'd love some up-to-date photos of the building!
