I don't believe any retail actually opens onto Minowan Miikan Lane. It all fronts onto Gladstone.

Still, while it is all vacant, I would hope that a higher-traffic street like Duffern might fare better. That said, because of the speed of traffic, it might not.
The stuff on Gladstone has dual frontage on both streets, and there is another row of retail on the west side of Minowan Miikan lane that is also empty with frontage only onto the lane.

it's quite nice retail, with windows overlooking the park. It would be a nice spot for a restaurant.

Yeah, was gonna say - feels like what they really need is for the park to be done and not look like this:

For goodness sake.. that strech of road is a dump, and any new development would be welcomed by many area residents...i also live close by
i live there in the same area also and it's way overdue ..the area it needs this ..

oh come on. This development has been in the works for 6 years now. Nobody should be acting surprise. the building has been operating on borrowed time for a while now.
the reason they act surprised was there was a sign back in the day of the development and somehow it went down and then this without a warning and no developer sign on... not that i care as am sure that building had to go long ago..

Is the Riverview Produce lands at the back included in this project??

I know that years ago developers where all over the land owner to buy it
No... that stays there ...

About the light-manufacturing space to be recreated in this development: https://startupheretoronto.com/part...e-in-toronto-solution-to-urban-manufacturing/

"The third (building) will have rental residential units above 60,000 sq. ft. of light-manufacturing space. Of that, 14,500 sq. ft. will be dedicated to a light-manufacturing incubator. It will focus on supporting entrepreneurs looking to bring products to market. The incubator will be an affordable and supportive space for entrepreneurs looking to build businesses in Toronto. Tenants will have access to advisors and mentors, as well as shared production and shipping facilities. The City has issued a request-for-proposals for not-for-profit or post-secondary institutions that would be interested in establishing and operating the incubator. To back the incubator’s creation and success, the City will offer a range of benefits, including below-market lease rates, operating funds and partnership development support to engage other potential supporters. The public proposal call will run until October 2018, and the City will select an operator by the end of December 2018."

Noticed today that there maybe a gap between the north building and the south buildings as it stands now. It could be there is no on/off site for the trailers and equipment and could be dug out later once there is a place on the site.
