I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Totally not liking the green. I was expecting a much lighter shade - that look like a 50's appliance.

I like it for that very reason. A 50's green appliance is cool.

The choice of colour will help it standout from the other towers in the neighbourhood. It will add to the already very colourful core skyline.

^ Agreed. And the colours allow for a beatiful contrast between all the elments of the tower in itself. Almost like someone took a photo and literally enhanced the contrast of the picture. Details!

urbandreamer: You'd prefer a lighter green? Wouldn't that pretty much take away from the overall effect and in essence turn it into one of the "typical looking" puke-green condos we see all around the city these days? Success, CityPlace, etc

I am hunting down a nice spandrel glass colour I'd have preferred on TT. Here's some colour selections that could do the trick:

by http://www.evergreen-glass.com/glasskote So far, GlassKote is looking like the best solution.

Of course, I also hate the colour and material chosen for the cladding--boring grey. Grey+green=aesthetic disaster.

Here's one combination that I would've approved: dark charcoal grey/black granite cladding

with bold magenta GlassKote spandrel glass. Or a charcoal grey with burnt orange GlassKote.

steveve is here :p!

excellent updates guys! This thing is on the verge of making its mark on the skyline from Yonge/Bay/University depending on where you're standing!

I saw a curve on the north side of the building (in skyscraper03's photo)... It looks quite cool~

Honestly, when i first saw the cladding i was taken by surprise the colour of the cladding... But i've long gotten used to it and it actually doesn't look too bad -imo...

In urbandreamer's (sick!) shot, trump will do a small (but nice) job in adding another spire to our skyline! But the little lantern on top will not be visible unless you have the eyes of a hawk! :D

The beautiful thing about tourists in Toronto staying in the PATH by day is they don't get to see how ugly downtown Toronto looks during daylight hours!
Now, I'm slightly biased with my roots in Vancouver...but seriously, other than f&f and business trips, what is there to see in Toronto as a tourist? "

urbandreamer, your opinion regarding Toronto is tainted, by your own admission.

Agreed. This guy has nothing good to say about the city. If he hates it so much then by all means, leave. Don't let the door hit you on the ass as you go.

That Evergreen Glass website is all kinds of funny.

To try and please everyone with an aesthetic choice such as colour is to tilt at windmills. Some will like it, some not. I like it.

I definitely agree with UD on the granite colour. It's barely distinguishable in colour from the concrete itself. At one point the renders showed black granite, and I wish they'd followed that choice.
