You'd think with all the empty space coming (the SW Expansion, the theatre space, the Target site) that they'd be able to add some large retailers (like Uniqlo).

Uniglo is almost assuredly going to open at Square One, especially now that Yorkdale is confirmed (the two malls are both owned by the same landlord). Plus with Mississauga's large Asian population, the demographics certainly warrant a store there.

Found some interesting renderings online of the proposed ``Main Street`` development slated for the lands directly south and west of of the current Square One expansion.

Awesome! That appears to the part that's being built now with the white steel beams! Looks really interesting.

I do wish thet had made the new section by Holt's a two level addition - but I guess they needed more parking more than stores.

By the looks of things today, all the steel should be up by the end of the month.

The trusses that have been on site for some months were for the roof of the new entrance.

A deep truss is where the old exit corridor was and waiting for a 2nd one.

Forever 21 will finally open either this coming week or next, as they were busy stacking the shelves. Some final work still has to be done.

Target was very busy, but saw no deals. A lot of areas are empty and not surprise as they were poorly stock in the first place.

Forever 21 Finally open up this weekend and was a zoo this afternoon with long lines to get into all the change rooms. Up escalator not working.

Still work to be done after hours and you can look down from the 2nd floor widow.

Lights been install in the new centre mall artwork.

Not much has taken place outside for the south side as it been too cold to put steel up and a large number of trailer with loads on site.

Found this piece about EllisDon's work on the expansion. Half of it is old information the other half gives a bit of an insight on what to expect architecturally from the expansion. Worth a read.

Square One Redevelopment Update, Target Closing, Forever 21, New Chandelier

Update 02/21/14

Sorry I forgot to upload this, but I have a lot of photos from the Target Closing. I also have pictures of the new expansion, as well as inside Forever 21. There are also a couple of pictures of the new Chandelier. I apologize for the blurriness of some photos.

Thanks for the pics. There's something amusing about them selling store fixtures along with all the items. The entire store looks like an apocalypse is about to happen.

It's actually sad to see Target go, becuase this was the first Canadian Target I went to and it also held some memories I made back in 2013. I'm just sad to see it go.

a master plan of the entire site and surrounding area, which
includes the addition of numerous mixed-use buildings, such
as high-rise residential condominiums, high- and mid-rise office
spaces and street-level retail units.

This is what peaked my interest. Anyone know anyone who works at MMC? lol

These two renders were put up on the malls development website. You can even see an outside facing entrance for Sport Chek and the south side entrance looks great as well.
