It almost likes a new main entrance, considering the "main entrance" is hidden behind a parking garage for the last decade or so.

Concrete work is completed with very little back filling to be done.

Steel on site to start the framing of the new south end entrance, as well for the rest of the expansion. They have added a new roof on top of the existing one on the north side of Hudson Bay. Looks like a 2nd level for the south side with a new connection the the Bay.

Not sure what up with the new truss framing on the slopping centre court roof and looks like a few more going to go up there as well.

Starting the wall framing on the west side.

Forever 21 miss all the various dates for completion as well missing the Christmas sale, but should open in Jan 2015, 4 months late.

The smoke place in the food court is gone with a new food place to open in it place. Taken a long time to moved that place out of there going back at least 15 years or more when other reno's took place in that area.

We may find out early 2015 what is plan for the next expansion. The next expansion should be the rebuilding of this mall into a smaller area along the Eaton Centre with 4 levels of stores as well increasing the number of them so the so call Downtown can be built on these lands. Its the white elephant in the city core.

Ya, what is up with that white framing on the circular sloping roof? Odd. Maybe they're going to open it up to let more light in
 
Guess I forgot to hit the post button the first time. Thought Forever 21 opened Dec 24 from the press release. Guess they didn't make it. The one at Yorkdale, the escalators weren't even ready.

Forever 21 will not open until late Jan or early Feb based on what the store looks like now. More like Feb.

Maxx's closing their store where the expansion is plan for. Surprise Home Outfitter is still open and not much left to sell.

Some concrete work was taking place on the south side in the lower levels with only 1 crane working. The rest looks the same as before Christmas.

They have started to remove the wall above the stores in the court yard at the west end and get the feeling that they are going to open up this area for natural lighting like the new south entrance and the upgrading of the centre court current one. It will look a lot better with natural lighting than the current dark one.

Bentley is now a more up scale store than what it look like before.

More white trusses have been added to the roof of the Westside court yard and it is confirm that that natural light will replace the dark area.

The existing steel trusses for the court yard will be remove to allow a higher ceiling height with the new trusses. Scaffold has been erected for the curve wall on the roof so removal of the wall can take place.

New steel beams have been install at the south end of the Old Navy store to support the long steel beams between Old Navy and the new extension. Beams being use to deal with the snow load weight cause by the different in height between the the extension and existing roof level.

Sq One drive is to become narrow with a small section for a wider crossing between the mall and the bus terminal. 1 bus layover bay plan for the west side of the crossing in each direction. Princes of Wales Dr will make an S bend to match up with the new road south of the extension and the current road to the existing parking to the north.

You'd think with all the empty space coming (the SW Expansion, the theatre space, the Target site) that they'd be able to add some large retailers (like Uniqlo).
