Toronto Spadina Subway Extension Emergency Exits | ?m | 1s | TTC | IBI Group

I agree there should be metropolitan funding (ie via so there you go :)

I just think Toronto does such a great job messing up their own system, I don't blame others for not waiting on them to do what needs to be done to serve riders and growth.

But a better funding arrangement? Sure.

The why do you want the Toronto subway then if it's this messed up?

It's not the TTC mandate to serve riders outside its jurisdiction. Call your MPP and tell him to upload the subway. Until then, it's just fact.

June 18
After years of trying to get up to the various new stations, I found I had time to do so this day, and had a look at Finch, York and Pioneer. Haven't been follow the thread for years since I last saw York, 407, Sheppard and Vaughan.

Finch
The Finch/Keele intersection should be back to normal before Sept with the Keele buses coming off detour for it. The station is 2 story with the top level for power equipment.

York
Unless I miss something, the station is at grade, not in the valley I rember seeing long ago.

Pioneer
From my point of view, the signage view from Steeles should be another 10-15 degree to the east to line up better. Steeles should be back to normal by Aug along with the road on York land beside the station. The north entrace is waiting for the cortan skin that is on site.

90 photos up on site for the 3 station area with York having the least shots.

interesting how they poured concrete on that whole stretch of keele...
do they expect heavy traffic?

Not too mention the fact that York U. generates a significant amount of transit us. The line to Steeles will be well used from day one.

They're quoting that the opening is for "end of 2017". Which could mean the classes that start in September of 2017, would begin with buses, but should end that school year with the subway serving them.

Probably go into Christmas break taking a bus and come back in January on the subway with subway service starting on Boxing day or something. A timeline like that gives TTC a week of real service to work out kinks before it gets non-fan crowds.

The math here checks out.

(Probably all the work will be done and they'll be wrapping up commissioning by the start of the school year. The superficial stuff should be done by then, though the York stations have been behind schedule...)
