If transit wasn't so messed up in this area, there would not need to be two bus stations at Pioneer Village station.

A single massive bus terminal isn't more efficient than 2 smaller ones unless you expect a large number of people to transfer from a YRT bus route to a TTC bus route. Keeping buses from crossing Steeles probably has a few advantages too.

Both Don Mills and Finch stations get traffic jams caused by circling buses, so driving past 17 bays to circle the station isn't free nor particularly beneficial.

I don't know the best design but a single massive round-about probably isn't it from an operations perspective. Elevators, however, really like it.

You're probably right that there are pros and cons. But it's still relevant they didn't even evaluate them since the NATO/Warsaw Pact-esque divide between YRT and TTC meant that a single terminal was never in the cards. It's nice to think we'd live somewhere where they'd actually look at what's best for operations and riders and then decide.

How difficult is it going to be to move from one bus terminal to the other? (that is meant as an honest question....not as snarky as it sounds when I read it :) )

You'll have to walk the length of the platform and take 2 escalators. So, depending on who you ask, either an impossible task that requires a moving walkway or the entire stop should be removed because there are too many stops on the line.

The Pioneer Village Station would be the only station that would require two separate bus terminals. One for TTC buses in a fare-paid terminal and a separate unpaid terminal for YRT buses. (And maybe a Jane LRT fare-paid connection.)

The Highway 407 and Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Stations would have unpaid bus terminals.

lol...thx.....no one in the "oh that's not so bad and highly manageable" camp?

I wonder if the will mrk on the platform which side is Toronto and which side is York Region?

Here? Those who are happy seem to be lurkers and you may not hear from them :)

YRT transit users will almost certainly be just fine with the situation as planned. In fact, it seems like a substantial improvement for YRT connections over what either Finch (limited shelter) or Don Mills (long walk) have today.

I honestly don't understand why we haven't built a wall yet. We need a complete shut down on York Region immigration into Toronto until we figure out what's going on with these York Regioners in our city.
Quick! Call Homer Simpson! A wall along Steeles Avenue would make Donald Trump proud.
