Not a photograph, but I made an animated gif digital diorama of sorts, and which I thought I'd share. The Bloor Viaduct is IMO our most attractive pieces of civic infrastructure, and the skyline from east of downtown with the forested valley in the foreground is one of my favourite city views (second to the waterfront). Although East Riverdale Park offers the quintessential view in this regard, it lacks the Viaduct's presence. So this image is kinda based off the view from Chester Hill Lookout, with tweaks and additions/subtractions to make it work.
Originally I wanted to have the Luminous Veil light installation shimmering/moving in the gif, as well as certain beacon lights on the highrises flickering on/off. But it was too much of a headache to make the loop match up, so the subway ended up being the only thing animated.
Hi - new member here, though I have been lurking for some time.
Caught this image at sunset yesterday - looking west from a sixth floor balcony on Spadina.
These are all great pictures and in a few years the skyline will be even more impressive. Now, a viewpoint that takes in Yonge street to the lake from north side of Bloor will show just how big the city is. New york-ish, but definitively Toronto.
