Toronto skyline

Thanks for the heads-up! Looks like a good spot but it seems out of the way without a car.

Yea, they are both very difficult to access without a car!

That's not to say those spots are impossible to reach without a car. I don't know where you are staying in Toronto, but Polson St is not far from the stop at Cherry and Commissioners Sts on the 72A bus, while Humber Bay Park is accessible using the 501 or 508 streetcar, both of which stop at Lake Shore Blvd West and Park Lawn Rd.

Surface public transit is sometimes a great way to see our city.

Hey Guys,

I am new to the forum but am friends with a couple of other photographers on here and contribute to another related forum as well. I take photos for a living but not always of this genre.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's images!

Looks like Centre Island!

Hi guys, I've just gone to Centre island. Is there any particular spot there with a firm ground or platform from which to take pictures of the Toronto skyline?

I tried searching for one but i didnt see any. There seems to be only limited spots available as mostly, either the view is blocked by tall bushes, or there are rocks.

I hope I am not wrong in my assessment! Please do correct me if I am wrong. Thank you!

It takes time to explore the island(s). There are some good unobstructed views from Seneca Ave (Algonquin Island):

Sometimes the ferry docks on the islands are good vantage points:

If you do make your way over to Ward's Island on the east side, there is a concrete pier (it is crumbling, so be careful) that juts into the harbour and offers view of the city like this:

I hope you are enjoying your stay!

Thanks lemur!! I'll check out the invaluable info you've given.

I'll see if I have time to squeeze in another visit to the islands before I leave Toronto. It was pretty rushed that day for me. I guess one needs more than a full day to explore the islands. :)

You guys live in an amazing city. I love the water front area. There are so many beautiful condos there too!
