Toronto scraps museum project, plans to raze site instead

I think the best hope for preserving something as difficult to convert as the silos is to just use them as one gigantic, but inaccessible art prop. Plunk down a budget of $1 million, or so, and get an artist to paint the thing in funky colours from top to bottom, but don't spend any money making structural rehabilitations to the buildings. Fence them off from the public so that they can be seen at a distance and call it a day.

The problem with just fencing them off is the school/community centre less than 10 feet away.

Cut off the top, carve in some gun emplacements, and pretend it's the ruin of an ancient castle.
