Interesting. Where at Ted Reeves? You have the arena, the dome, the parking and the park. The latter, I would hope, is off limits.

I assume I will see this reflected in the budget in just over a week.........but may I ask how you came about the info?

I can pretty much guarantee they looked at it as they need to find land they owned, that was physically close to the existing site.

Depending on the exact spot, this is ~ 2 blocks from the existing location, so not that bad, albeit, the bridge will be a barrier for some due to the hill and winter icing.

While they could have talked to First Capital about putting it into the podium at the Sobeys site, and may well have...........that would have likely come with a hefty purchase/lease cost, and it might have displaced the proposed and desired grocery store.

I'm not sure there are any other nearby proposals, which have appropriate space.
End of July 2024 email from Craig Ruttan, the chief of staff, of Brad Bradford. He didn't say exactly where at Ted Reeves just "beside the Ted Reeves Arena".

Do you know why the city requested that it not be part of the 6 Dawes build? I remember the initial drawings had the community centre at street level.

I get that the location is very close to the original site; however, the neighbourhoods are very different. As a north of track resident I do see it as losing a resource, especially when we have welcomed so much density.

Thanks.

Not the City's request. Metrolinx vetoed the use being next to the rail corridor.

I get ya, I live north of you, so it would push the facility even further from me.

Looks like they’re seeking more height. Feels like a bit of a bait and switch with the 17 story fourth podium.

...that's a big project though. Phat towers and podium built on a crash wall.
