They're a subcategory of NIMBYs called BANANAs - Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anything

Ya can't smoke in parks - it's a bylaw. Not that anyone follows that rule I've seen. For real!!!! With maps!? Why did this take so long?
A+, get those ratty old things out of here.
Edit: Wtf is that no smoking emblem doing on there? If dogs can shit on the grass and piss on the best trees to sit under then I'm having a smoke to cope, mate.
Is there a term for NIMBYS who want to prevent you from building close by, but also far away in the Greenbelt. In other words they don't want you building period.
Today's Margaret Wente article G&M has me flipping completely.
We should start building in some parts of the green belt immediately before we start losing ambitious young professional families that drive the Toronto economy.
No-one can convince me Canada is running out of farmland, watersheds - its absurb.
Sprawl was out of control, but we've swung to far towards over-density and its choking Toronto.
This is from the same neighbours that demanded a Bike Share docking station be removed from Riverdale Farm area.

I miss smoking.. 2 days without now

Most of these ambitious yuppies prefer living not in suburbs. We need to build more in built-up areas to drive costs down. There is more than enough space to house another 1 million people in Toronto alone.
You sure? Have you been to Scarborough? The whole place is a prime example of how to waste space. We have lots of farm land in Canada, yeah, but that which we're paving over in southern Ontario is some of the most fertile and healthy land in the world. As for watersheds, I suppose the farther healthy watersheds are from urban centres the better, right? You live off water too.
I honestly reckon you're having a bad day. Chin up.

How is space wasted in Scarborough?
Good for you for giving it up! As for smoking in parks, it's not all parks. https://www.ontario.ca/page/smoke-free-ontario
Because that same amount of space could easily house three times as many people (or, likely, more).
Bungalow subdivisions are a joke when it comes to efficient use of space. A sad joke though, so not very funny.
I am not singling out Scarborough, by the way, it was just one example of very, very, very many around these parts.
Well they were built in a different, and in my opinion, better way. I grew up in a bungalow, I currently live in one with a nice, not huge but good sized front and back yard. I much prefer this to the yard-less houses that are built today.
