We see so many proposals to build "villages" of mid-rise and high-rise buildings with interesting tower designs and a high-quality public realm. But they're often slow to be built, with development slow to start and then spanning decades.

Regent Park looks like a community where they actually built the "village" that was shown in the renderings to a significant extent. That's not to say that Regent Park was exceptionally fast. It has taken about two decades so far, and it isn't done yet. But it's great to see things come together with strong execution of the ambitious original plan (both in terms of the built form and the public realm).

The different colours, shapes and motifs of the public realm help create character and make these areas quite interesting to walk through.

Love this mews! Could someone get a photo of it at night with the (new) overhead lights shining? Also has the programming for the community space on the north side of the new building been released? Was supposed to be cycling related. Thanks!

Indeed….Living Lane is becoming more liveable as the neighbouring building is nearing completion. Been waiting to see them test the lights but the wait continues. Future block parties will nestle into this space nicely behind DuEast and its eastern neighbour.

By chance, my partner and I walked through this area yesterday, it really is coming together remarkably well and the touches of 'whimsey" like the bike sculptures are great.
