Toronto Picasso Condos | 128.62m | 39s | Mattamy Homes | Teeple Architects

I love it. But I wonder if residents will like that bright red as part of their living space (even though the balcony is legally common space). No one paints their walls that colour.

so?
I painted my two of my internal walls in the living-room bright red because all this beige and light blue/grey/green/purple is simply unbearable.
Red won't kill you.

I remember back when people on this site were saying things like no-one will ever buy a condo beside a highway or without a parking space. People were predicting that condos without parking would be a huge FAIL, and yet, they found buyers.

Just because most people are afraid of colour (well, everything besides grey, so it seems) it doesn't mean that there aren't people like myself who appreciate a good shot of colour (red is my favourite) in their architecture/condos. It may be a small percentage of people like this in Toronto but there probably is enough to fill the occasional condo here and there. We won't know until more developers start proposing more colourful buildings. Most artists I know, love and embrace colour. I've seen some wickedly cool, colourful apartments in my day.

Oh, by the way, my living-room walls are RED and the ceiling is silver! You will find very little white in my place.

Everyone seems to love the striking red mechanical louvres on M5V and the red lit mechanical penthouse on Rêve.
Even the tinted coloured panes on the front of M5V looked really cool, especially from inside, though I didn't think enough coloured glass was used on that building -- however that was a building full of missed opportunities.
Colour if done right looks really sharp and cool.

Red is a primary colour and one of the most timeless of all colours. Imagine if those accents were done in some trendy colour of the moment it would look tired and dated in no time. Think lime green, teal, anything neon, dusty rose, harvest gold, avocado green, etc...

I could imagine those bright red walls will certainly brighten and add life during a dreary grey winter season.

Wow! Finally a different looking facade. What a change from all the those new blue green building façades

The facade is just what the building is wrapped in. The massing and building form itself is also far more interesting than the vast majority of residential projects going up in this city right now.

Urbandreamer; I know you have a certain way of analyzing things that doesn't come from the norm, but thx for the photo updates... They're worth more than the sum of all previous arguments... Same for all like-minded photojournalists (IE: Big Builder)... Keep posting pics...

This is what happens when a development geek is also a video freak. WARNING, if you hate cheesy music, turn off the sound!
My top 10 development projects under construction in Toronto.

I've tried to link the video directly, using the insert video tab but it doesn't work for me anymore.

Umm... a huge chunk of units in Luna/Luna Vista (Mine included) have 2 giant walls of red glass in the kitchen. Didn't stop that package from being sold.

Edit: Meant to quote Junctionist
