Where do you figure this would go north of Bloor? If it stays on Dufferin, it would get awfully close to the Spadina Subway.

Why are we afraid of that?

It only gets close to Spadina by the time Dufferin reaches Eglinton. At that point, it would be more egregious to not connect with the Crosstown, than it would to duplicate service.

If we sent it up north of Eglinton on Dufferin, that to me just says that we gotta up-zone all those lands along Dufferin, Yorkdale and Lawrence Heights for some of that delicious density.

After Eglinton it could veer north east to connect with Glencairn which would give more of a reason to use that station.

If relief is needed fast perhaps the line could start off with a tunnel with just a Pape and Queen station only so it can open earlier and then add the extra stations later.

The cost alone would make this prohibitively expensive.

Sadly, you're right. The Relief Line is a priority project, so some money will have to be allocated for it.

That area has tons of transit options already.

We dont HAVE to have every subway line continue to the ends of the earth.

I would like to avoid the buried rivers and streams. They tend to show up every so often, usually after a big rainstorm.

As far as I concern, I believe the Relief Line should end at either Lansdowne or Dundas West. Did you read @W. K. Lis's comment, that Keele and Parkside have a ravine under them ? Plus Keele is too far west anyway

Long Branch doesn't have the density or development potential.

It should be under The Queensway, terminating at Sherway Gardens (and/or Dixie GO).

That sounds likely to happen, and a way better idea then @north-of-anything's idea of going to an area, that you, me, and we all know is pretty low density.
