Saw the first couple pieces of steel up on the danceflloor for the lower Don bridge.

is there a night club opening here that I'm not aware about?? 🤔🤞

Saw that too!

First thought was I wonder if I can snap it before Kotsy!?

Earliest i can get out is Sunday morning, so he's probably got me beat.

;)

That said, it's pretty low so might not be that great from an aerial angle.
I'm planning to go tomorrow so unless things change, I should have an update in the afternoon sometime

Couple of evening shots from the Leaside bridge.

Update from today. I'll start with the Lower Don Crossing, as it was mentioned earlier in the thread by @whatever

Once they build the first half over the Don River, it will be launched East over the DVP to it's final position and then the 2nd half will start construction. Each half is supposed to take about 3 months.

Okay so are the white parts, parts of the final bridge?
Im pretty sure it's part of the final bridge. The east side of it looks to be the start of the arch.

I happen to live at 39 Parliament.

Obviously the building isn't being expropriated, lol.

I haven't heard additional details directly from the board or management yet but my understanding is that it relates to rights to property beneath the building.

FYI there is only a single underground parking level here, while next door at 33 Mill St. I think it's 4 levels. And the new buildings on the other side of Distillery Lane have at least that many levels, too.

^I suspect this involves the building's underground levels. Metrolinx isn't tearing any condo down.

They're a highly incompetent and inept organization so I completely understand everyone's concerns nevertheless, as they are well founded based on many instances of stupidity displayed by them.
FYI there is only one underground parking level in the building, so no, Metrolinx isn't taking it because the tunnel is going to be much, much deeper than the parking level. A century and a half ago this was the shore of Lake Ontario, the water table is high here (we've a sump pump under the garage to help keep it dry) so any tunnel boring will need to be through bedrock.
