It's trolling to point out the folks in planning with Keesemat as its head (the chain of command) are out to lunch because they seem intent on spending as much money as possible on the biggest white elephant ever? It seems like they're the ones trolling the city by conveniently not knowing what's going on in their own backyard. I heard a rumour Keesemat isn't even from around here?? Confirm/deny?

In addition the millions of similar projects in Liberty Village like this one and those are the ones I had the energy to look up.

Some how they come up with a plan to build something that goes to this? Would you believe they put a green checkmark beside it because it gives people access to Moss Park? Because they did. What reason would people possibly have for coming up to the surface at Queen and Sherbourne?

Very likely. City Planning is concerned about making the Relief Line cheaper so it is more politically palatable I am sure.

But the Relief Line is not the transit line to go cheap on, is my counter-argument!

The only other thing I could think of, is that they want to limit the number of stations so that the Relief Line is quicker, incentivizing more transfers at Pape.

The only other thing I could think of, is that they want to limit the number of stations so that the Relief Line is quicker, incentivizing more transfers at Pape.
One extra station is not going to prevent someone from the east not transferring at Pape. If the DRL heads too far north and requires another transfer onto the Yonge line (or a long walk), when it will reduce the transfers and people would continue to use Yonge as the transfer station.

First point yes, second point, probably not - there is a reason why people are willing to walk relatively long distances in PATH.

I always assumed the majority of people doing those long walks in the paths were ones who took GO downtown and it made little sense to add a TTC fare and transfer to their trip for such a short distance. The people transferring onto either the DRL or the Yonge line probably have a better option then GO travellers to get closer to their actual work because there are more stops they can choose to get off at. I do find Torontonians much more adverse to walking then say New Yorkers. Routinely when I am at my families in Queens I see people walking the equivalent of going from Eglinton and Dufferin to Eglinton West to catch the subway. Unfortunately my experience in Toronto is that seems like much too far a walk as there are people waiting to get on the bus at oakwood or even marlee for a trip to Eglinton West. Because of how many people will be on yonge though I assume people will take the DRL even if it isnt as close and walk even if they do not really want to simply to avoid being on the overcrowded yonge line.
 
Yup. I really want to know why Jarvis/Parliament was discounted in favor of Sherbourne.

Sherbourne has a connecting transit route and great cycling infrastructure, Jarvis does not. Sumach will also provide an easy connection to the Cherry St. spur, serving the Distillery District and the Pan Am Athletes Village/Canary District, not to mention Regent Park.

Sure, re: GO - but I think the whole point of switching the DRL is avoidance of the Y+B mess as well as the overall congestion/unreliability of the line. That aspect is probably not that alignment sensitive (within reason). Besides, the assumption is that ST will get built - if you want to access King in the financial core with a minimum of wait, you'd better off riding that.

When a bus comes every few minutes, and the transfer is free no matter how you pay, why not take the bus to Eg-West? (Though there were some days when I would walk and make it there faster than a bus from Dufferin/Eglinton)

Its a 15 min walk from Dufferin to Eglinton West. hence why Oaskwood should never have obtained a station along the Crosstown. People are basically becoming lazier

That is actually the current stance of the Financial District BIA. They want a Queen alignment if ST is built and a King alignment if ST is not built.

How? There are still gonna be two stations. Instead of Jarvis and Parliament, they would be at Sherbourne and Sumach.
I would do Jarvis/Parliament/Sumach (or River) instead of Sherbourne/Sumach.
