Unfortunately, from a distance, the articulated balconies are lost - it appears to be a standard box.

In G.L.17's last post from yesterday you can clearly see the white balconies of Casa2 next to 1BE. Although there are subtle differences in their balcony glass, the overall white effect should be similar. What's different is the heightened effect of 1BE's curved blacony glass. You can see it in one example (bright light) in G.L.17's post just now. Even in that light you can see the play of enhanced light on the curves. It's even more wonderful when the weather is whacky. So be patient. It's gonna wow us.

Not one new row of balcony glass in 3 weeks? Aura and One Bloor.....2 opposite tales....One looks amazing from afar and not so great up close while the other looks great up close and boring as hell from afar.

Aura doesn't even look amazing from afar - and on another note, you forgot to mention one has signed up Saks 5th Off Rack, and the other is getting sued by its' owners/tenants.

I wouldn't say One Bloor looks 'boring as hell' from afar, but I'll agree that One Bloor is best appreciated up close, and Aura from afar. Obviously it's best to have both, but I'm so glad One Bloor gets it right at street level, because it's an intersection that demands it the most. Very nice detailing on the podium and the balconies.

Positive aspect about Aura is that it is a distinctly original and unconventional design that is very different than any other building in the city. Nothing comes close. It may not always work well from street level, but the impact it has on the skyline, (some of which inherited by its relatively unobstructed location), is perhaps the greatest seen in a generation. The roofline and light line is quite stunning.
