Why don't they just introduce commercial rent control instead of this?

Renos currently taking place in the old TD Bank/Elephant & Castle spot @ Yonge & Gerrard. No idea who's going in there.
I'd be curious to know who's moving in.....

I read on RedFlagDeals that Sport Check 2529 Yonge is having a closing sale.
(Former Mexx location)

Not surprising, customer traffic never looked very high for that location. They also get overshadowed by the Sporting Life flagship store a couple blocks away.

I dropped by that Sport Chek today and can confirm they're having a closing sale. Whole store is 40% off and most of the good inventory is moving quick. I picked up a couple pairs of running shoes.

Tokyo Smoke to open 5 more cannabis stores in Ontario

Peter Smith | Nov 28 2019, 8:55 am

The five new retail locations are listed as:
  • 390 Lakeshore Drive, Unit D, North Bay, ON
  • 75 Pinebush Road, Cambridge, ON
  • 570 Bloor Street West, Toronto, ON
  • 1303 Queen Street East, Toronto, ON
  • 1082 Memorial Avenue, Thunder Bay, ON

It looks like Rogers is taking over the Forever 21 building at Yonge and Dundas - unless it's just advertising.

Superette is opening at 1073 Yonge Street, a block north of Rosedale subway station. They're a Cannabis retailer headquartered in Toronto and had their first shop in Ottawa.
