I was gonna move away from Mercer St anyways but having to face that every day might hasten my decision. Was excited to have some eye candy to look at but this ain't it.what a sh!t show.

This really is not what was advertised wow. I thought this was going to be one of the nicest buildings in the city, now I'm just scared.

One can only hope that the towers will bring some relief and that this mess will be restricted to Mercer Street.

The renderings do show the vertical spandrel panels - but not the tall horizontal band covering the transfer slab.

Yeah most people aren't going to be like "it doesn't look like the renderings", but good chance anyone who has to look at that wall of grey spandrel every day probably isn't gonna love looking out their windows at an endless wall of grey-ness. Not exactly the best view.

I always thought placing this large prominent building on such a narrow back street was a mistake .... maybe not ...

Not sure that's a requirement for understanding good design though.

I think the density here on this block with the narrow streets will put the area in permanent shadows. Looking at the glass so far, a lack of its visibility from the main streets might not be such a bad thing...
. Just general note I'm fine with density done right. I'd be okay if one Yonge would have been a bit taller complimenting the CN Tower. Wellesley on the Park could have been taller. I have concerns with the entertainment district. While the Bell Lightbox gave something credible back to the community this new crop of towers apart from some well preserved facades aren't really doing anything but closing clubs and creating darkness at noon. The quality of the latest crop of buildings is not helping matters. On the bright side King and hopefully Mirvish towers might influence others to higher standards.
