It's nice to see that they're adding the shell outside of the condo now. Do they normally skip the lobby floors for a reason?
Agreed with both reasons as expressed above, plus, the ground floor spaces are often (not always) temp storage areas for materials that will be used on higher floors: sometimes you just want to be able to deliver a load of pipes, or drywall, etc., through what will be a window in the future… Don't close the ground floor in too early, and you have far more flexibility with staging the interior construction process.I believe it may be due to the fact that the lobby floor windows are custom, one off, and not typical of the rest of the building. Early installation of a typical floor would confirm the design and specifications for the window treatment, and the installation process for the rest of the building, or identify potential issues for resolution before the window installation process had progressed too far.
The other reason that may also be a factor is that typically there would be a lot of physical activity and movement around the ground floor, possibly increasing the risk of damage to ground floor windows if installed early in the construction process.
