All around the Monde, yesterday:
I hope that Waterfront Toronto (or Great Gulf) has a budget to replace the screens on these fountains every few years when required. I assume they're looking like they do know because they've been catching construction dust from Monde, which won't be so bad next year (when Greenland's Lakeside Residences gets going, it'll be dustier here again), in any case, right now, they look disgusting.

Hmm. I was surprised to see the water feature all turned off already… but maybe this is Waterfront Toronto getting ready to at least apply some cleaning solutions? The water feature is nothing to do with Great Gulf - either Waterfront Toronto or the City (not sure if it's been transferred yet). The 'gunk' on the screen is algae not dust so this will be a continuing problem.
This building is a massive win for our city.
It gets turned off quite often and you then see guys (mostly) hosing down the channels and tidying up the plants. If I remember correctly, last year they had it running through mid-November so it may not be the seasonal shut-down. (Of course, when it was being proposed there was talk of it running all year with the winter producing wonderful natural ice sculptures etc).Hmm.
