I'm wondering if just the townhouses in the proposals that you noted above, Jasonzed, are going ahead then...also taking into account what drum118 mentions?

I've been keeping track of Crystal at Pinnacle Uptown across the street, so it's nice to see another greenfield at Hurontario and Eglinton being improved finally.

yes, I believe it's just the townhouses, semi-detached, etc...no towers as of yet.

This phase of the project is scheduled to be completed by end of 2014.

Thank you for the info.

As a little kid, it's funny when I remember my family driving us down Hwy 10 from the 401 and it just being acres and acres of farmland...and then Square One! A lot has changed here in my lifetime; and City Centre is unrecognizable from 15 years ago. Things are looking up!

Here's a blast from the past when it was just becoming developed north of Eglinton:

The house on site is being set up as the sale office for the townhouse at this time. They were surveying the area a week ago.

The city past a bylaw last year that only allows for the townhouses to be built first until the new trunk line is built on Hurontario by 2016. This also applies to the other project across the street.

Even then, Council prefer the LRT be in place before the towers on Hurontario can be built for both sites. This may change with the new council in 2015 since there will be a number of new faces on it including a new mayor after 2014 election.

You will be lucky to see construction started in 2014 and if so, late 2015 would be the time frame.

Thanks for that, Transportfan! Love the cars in 1989 haha. 24 years doesn't seem that long ago, but I do remember the drive like this. My earliest memories would be from about 1983 with even less buildings north of Eglinton!

The draft for the townhouse/single house development portion has been approved but they have asked for the 28s building be increased to 33s, the application is in process.

The H holding for the towers will not be removed until 2016/2017 and that got to do with the trunk line on Hurontario St. Until the trunk work is completed, both this site and the Uptown Site will not be allow to start construction on any towers for the area.

The sales office is in place and waiting for the grading of the sales parking lot. The sales office could be open in May or June for the Townhouses.
