Toronto Minto Westside | 68.88m | 20s | Minto Group | Wallman Architects

Wow that just shows what a huge footprint this project has, if it has a similar unit count to Ice and harbour plaza which are each 60+ floor twin towers.

What Westside lacks in height, it more than makes up for in surface area.

That's a lot of building. I like the cladding so far and I get why they're breaking it down into smaller bits.

Bit of a hulking monstrosity and just really awful cladding.

Yes, I don't get the criticisms of this - walked by it the other day and appreciated the cladding versus a lot of the straight window wall offerings we have had lately. However, I do agree that it somewhat looms over Bathurst. The massing could have been broken up.

Is it finalized what the city is doing on the westside of Bathurst here?

With another strong street wall across from this development it will make for a unique urban moment for people moving from the tight dense area to the expansive openness given by the railway. And going north up Bathurst from the lake I'd imagine it would feel like the city swallowed you whole.

Yes, public gathering space with a bunch of interesting uses (repurposed shipping containers, etc.) for a while, anyway: http://urbantoronto.ca/news/2017/01/temporary-shipping-container-market-proposed-near-fort-york
