Yikes. This looks ridiculous and tacked-on; a developer's space-grab and nothing more. Can't wait to see it ripped off in a couple decades' time.
 
It would not surprise me if in a couple of years time, see a wave of replacement windows to make them flush and fit better into the overall new look (not that I approve).

I agree -- it doesn't respect the original form of the building at all. At the very least it could articulate better with the diagonal jut of the upper floors.

I do wish they use a frameless glazing system - or those massive single panes a la Apple Theatre.
