I applaud the new density but feel bad for the home owners who weren’t initially expecting this when they purchased their homes.

They can dry their tears with the giant checks they will get for their properties.

I wonder if one day those cheques will be coming from developers/the City of Mississauga with plans to intensify those neighbourhoods to match the towers around them?

I have a feeling they will intensify the Malls first and some of the commercial retail zones before they start on the single family homes near Square One.

What I shot today, the east section will be above grade by the end of the month and the west section at grade by the end of the month or first part of July.

The east end is at grade and working on the first floor. Rest is still not at grade. You can now see a lot more from Burnhamthrope compare the west gate area.

There were/are plans to redevelop the northern most part where Shoppers Drugmart sits but there has been no recent updates on this:

Mississauga rejected the proposal but it was overruled by LPAT. I doubt if it gets built any time soon giving the current environment.
