This is driving me nuts - what is that metal crane-looking thing in the renderings? It's even in the physical model. Don't get me wrong, I like it (in that it's something different) but just can't figure out what it is/does.
 
It's exactly that! It's an existing crane that they plan to repurpose as public art.

I love it! It's like a remnant of an industrial past left behind in the post-apocalyptic rebirth of the land.

That bear with canoe slide is also amazing.
That beaver is just creepy and is tripping me out a bit, but I'll take it over what's there today.

I'm so stoked for this I could cry. I'm gonna go live down there when it's all done up and visit my homie the slide bear on a daily.

I'd imagine that it is a shortish term lease until that section of the portlands is redeveloped - probably 15 years out.

I see Cinespace is moving to make way for the GM innovation centre on Eastern.
