Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

The top image seems to show a full canopy to curb edge extending the length of the platform, but the bottom image shows only two small sections of canopy. Wondering which one it will be, and how this could compare with Crosstown stop design.

From the looks of it. they provide pretty much the same amount of weather protection. The rendering just look better cause it's a centre platform oppose to the side platform rendering. I don't see how it's better.

It seems like they have factor usage in the design. The busier stop has more canopy than the less used station. Of course they show the same number of passengers waiting which throws things off.

This would be way better were a flight of stairs or even an elevator was leading directly from the LRT platform up to the the GO pedestrian bridge. This is billed as an intermodal hub after all, proper investments should be made here.

There supposed to be 3 elevators, stairs and escalators for this station. The new RR bridge is suppose to be for 4 tracks with the walkway bridge on the north side.

Canopy size and placement needs to match door spacing on the trams. Even at lighter use stops. Door usage determines boarding times and therefore velocity. A canopy that packs people around one door means passengers aren't distributed throughout the car, which aggravates boarding further.

Of note, TRILLIUM TRANSIT PARTNERS features many of the companies currently working on the Waterloo ION system.
outside impression from afar, but they seem to be doing a pretty decent/efficient job over there...this should count in their favour...no?

Mississaugans are sure going to feel like second class citizens once this LRT project starts operating. Surely a one stop subway from, say, Cookesville to Sqaure One would better allow them to retain their dignity.

It seems good enough. Don't expect any surprise frills. If it's not in the agreement, it won't exist. They also have had a few cases where they've needed to tear up some work and re-do, so there's clearly some lessons learned that they would be able to get right the first time if they were to build Hurontario.

I had a hard time parsing all the levels of irony in that ;)

Unlike Toronto, Mississauga runs the city as a business and that started with Hazel. Given the fact that only 1,100 riders travel one way from Sq One to Cooksville at peak time today, it makes no sense to have a subway.

There is still a strong opposition to having an LRT since it taking road space from drivers and no room for future growth for more drivers. At the same time, these folks are saying why stop at only one line and not having more?
