Toronto Hotel X (was Hotel in the Garden) | ?m | 27s | Exhibition Place | NORR

People should know what they are getting into when they stay at a hotel like this. Make sure to bring ear plugs during the Indy.

I agree people should know what they are getting into but I am not sure that it should be the hotel's responsibility to educate their customers on every single event taking place in and around their hotel.

For the right crowd telling people the indy is going on would actually be a draw not a deterrent. Myself for example fully intend to look into how I can be on the rooftop patio of this hotel for next year's indy!! If I have to stay in the hotel for the night then that's what I will do, gladly!!

Hotel X & Digital Dreams Mainstage construction.

Dear Kotsy, you can find a ticket on Kijiji for $180-200. Or check out Twitter, there are a lot of people selling tickets way below the ticketmaster price. I got mines for $200, the festival is definitely worth it!

I'll never trust Kijiji after being sold a fake hard ticket through them. I'll settle for Pride parties this year :)

Took these this evening.

Slightly OT - the Ex grounds, particularly the stretch facing Lake Shore is such a waste - it should be meticulously landscaped with a paved sidewalk along the lines of the QQ motif and used as a showcase. Is there anything more insulting than having a chickenwire fence along that strip?

Half of City Council was loudly in favour of a grand Lakeshore Boulevard in the East end to replace the Gardiner. Well, they have the West Lakeshore with no Gardiner above it and it runs right alongside the water. This is their opportunity to put our money where their mouth is.

Just as you said, they can build wide sidewalks on both sides with a buffer of trees. Then zone it for low rise buildings with restaurants in the podiums and patios in front. The speed limit on Lakeshore is already low at 60km/hr yet it feels like a highway because it's not at all pedestrian friendly.

While Queens Quay ends at Stadium Road, they could continue that public realm treatment up Bathurst and then along Lakeshore to at least Ontario Place.

I like the open green space on the north side of Lake Shore around the Fort Rouille monument. The fence and Bailey bridges are ugly, though. While I respect the Bailey bridge, the design was developed as a temporary structure for military operations in war zones, not a scenic waterfront.
