Toronto Form Condos | 50.59m | 14s | Tridel | a—A

I was really hoping the building would turn out great so we could say "Good form, Peter" to Peter Clewes. Oh well.

The bottom portion of the third overhang is now clad:

Is there a ban on colours in this city? Cladding the bottom of the overhang in a pop of colour is a no brainer. The Ontario College of Art and Design is literally across the street for goodness sake.

It’s a double whammy. Toronto is a pretty gre city to begin with and these buildings are built for investors who don’t really care about what thry look like. Just the bottom line. You’d see better looking buildings if they were built for end users in mind, not people who buy off of plans sight unseen from a different country.

At least that’s my guess. I could be completely wrong.

While I appreciate the overall concept, it feels way to heavy in person.

If only they extended the "fins" above the mechanical, if only there was a bit more height for the ground-level retail, if they only selected a different "grey" for the window wall, and the list goes on. Is a shame as this one had some real potential.

I'd give it a C+.
