Toronto FC

Just saw that shoeless Joes is closing.. This is from the red patch boys:

We just received some sad news that Shoeless Joe's at King and Dufferin will be closing at the end of 2019. Many of us have been lucky to call it home for many years, graciously hosted and cared for like family by Joe, Kim & staff. Joe's has been a cornerstone of our community for TFC and soccer in general. We want to recognize and express sincere gratitude and appreciation for supporting us and our RPB home.
On the evening of Dec. 27th we'll be gathering to close the place down in style. Say goodbye with friends old and new.

Hmmm......yeah, fair point.
However, there is no way he keeps his form at at least 75% for the next three years. One year, yeah. Two, maybe. Three? Maybe with a new training regime that is magical.

Dude...my face when it went to pens v. MTL. ? I couldn't watch even though I knew what would happen....which did happen, of course.
The league cup final was just sad after that own goal went in, you could feel it all just implode. It was over that second.

I'm pretty stoked about a fully rested Pozuelo. If he can really become like VV then we'll be looking good. I'm super stoked to see if Westberg can keep the form he had had the last three months of last season. That was exceptional.
No extra matches from CCL...until 2021 ;).

We'll see, Bradley does have a hard working mentality but you are right, I doubt he will be great by his third year, might even be a bench player by that point.

We just need one final that goes to penalties and we win, then i'll consider the curse over. Of the 3 we lost, the CCL final hurts the most though, we were the better team and we would've made history (the first treble and the first quad). MLS Cup would've been totally different if we had gotten the first goal, that own goal totally shifted the momentum.

Of course, CCL 2021 champs obviously ;) (but seriously though that would be incredible)

Oh maaaan, that CCL final was bogus. I can't believe that shit.

But really, I can't believe Delgado's piss-poor attempt in the dying minutes that should have sealed it for us.

The quad would have been legendary!!!! Though, I'll take the treble. That's going to take forever to replicate.

Two weeks til the season starts! I'm pretty stoked. Going to MTL away this year.....pretty stoked....I love their casino pre-match and then their idiotic youth pos-match.

Can't wait til the 7th to come back to my home away from home though close to home.
And one of my best mate's is coming back this year so our crew will be whole again. ?

Great to see the new lad Achara get his first goal for the Reds, and credited for the winner against NYCFC no less! ?

He had a goal in the first half ruled (correctly) as offside. Glad he eventually got the game winner. Really solid performance for his debut.

Once Piatti comes into the side, we'll have some great options from the bench between Achara and Laryea.

Altidore continued his slow start to the season however. NYCFC lucky they did not lose by more than 1 goal.

Euro 2020
Yes, Euro 2020 has been postponed by 12 months: https://www.uefa.com/insideuefa/mediaservices/mediareleases/newsid=2641071.html?iv=true

UEFA EURO 2020 was scheduled to take place in 12 cities across Europe from 12 June to 12 July 2020. The proposed new dates are 11 June to 11 July 2021. UEFA would like to reassure existing ticket buyers and hospitality clients that if they cannot attend the tournament in 2021, the face value of their tickets and packages will be refunded in full

The best player to ever dress for the Reds is set to return? I will cry.

Victor Vazquez rumours are heating up heavy and he was on Footy Talks today.

Of course, when asked, his fav goal he scored with Toronto is the under the wall free kick (which has been my iconic fav goal) and that match is being shown tonight! 5:0 v Columbus from 2017.

The man. The legend. The best Toronto player ever (not debatable, don't bother). <3 <3 <3

Says his favourite year of his career was here in 2017 and how much he loves it here.

Says he feels like he has 3 years left in his career and that he hasn't had an injury since he left (probably because he isn't playing on a CFL-butchered pitch in Qatar) and wants to finish his career here.

They have to sign him.

AP Source: MLS looking at having all teams play in Orlando

May 13, 2020, 8:27 PM

Major League Soccer is looking at the possibility of resuming the season this summer with all teams playing in Orlando, Florida.

Details of the plan are still under consideration, but the league’s 26 teams and limited staff would likely be sheltered in a resort with games played without fans at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney World, a person with knowledge of the plan told The Associated Press. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity Wednesday because the plan has not been formally announced. The proposal was first reported by the Washington Post.

MLS better hope for minimal rainouts and hurricanes.

I'm boycotting their Orlando tournament nonsense.

Just leave it be and start the season in synch with Europe. Simple.

And I'm sure you'll be at BMO Field in the middle of January when there is 5cm of snow and ice on the ground while blowing -20C down by the lake, right?

As I have been in the past when it was below zero and nasty out, yes.

There are winter breaks in leagues in Russia, Czechia, etc so I'm not sure what you're on about. You must be one of those tourist types. Family day at the stadium. Abandon tickets when it rains. Etc.
